Attacked NLD candidate in stable condition
The CT scan results of Naing Ngan Lin, the National League for Democracy’s candidate who was attacked by a sword last night on his campaign in Thaketa Township, showed that his condition is now stable.
“Scan results are good; there are no blood leaking or congealed blood clots in his head. He can talk, sit and eat,” said Dr Tin Myo Win, the chair of the NLD’s health network this afternoon at 1:30 pm.
Naing Ngan Lin had his wounds on head and hands operated this morning but still under other necessary medical examinations.

update : Operation performed on injured NLD candidate Naing Ngan Lin A surgical operation was performed on Naing Ngan Lin, the National League for Democracy’s (NLD) candidate for the Yangon regional parliament, this morning at 2 am after being attacked by a sword last night. The three-hour long operation was to sew the wounds on his head and hands closed, according to his wife Khin Sandar Win. Another injured NLD member, Kyaw Thu, also had his hand treated. “The blood vessels in his hands were sewed up. The head is operated. The doctors didn’t mention the number of stitches. Other important matters were also taken care of. He can talk,” said Khin Sandar Win. The next surgery will be performed on November 2 and Naing Ngan Lin is in the intensive care unit of the Yangon General Hospital, his wife said. Naing Ngan Lin and another NLD member Ko Ni and Thanda Maw, campaign manager of Thet Htar Nwe were attacked with a sword wielding man at 8th Street of Mannpyay ward, Thakayta township, at about 9.30 pm yesterday. One NLD member, Aung Kyaw, said while they were going round on a decorated float, an unknown man appeared suddenly and punched those who came along with the vehicle. After some NLD members’ intervention, the man went home and came back with a sword. Then he started to attack and but he was stopped by Naing Ngan Lin and some party members. Later, three other empty-handed men joined him and started their attacks, said Aung Kyaw. Three of the attackers are under interrogation at Thaketa Township Police Station under sections 609/2015, 326/294/114. They are Zaw Latt (a.k.a) Aung Zaw Latt, Tin Aung Khaing Oo and Myo Min Khaing. Breaking news: Some NLD party members including Naing Ngan Lin from Thaketa Township have been attacked in the township tonight. A man attacked the NLD party members with a knife while NLD is parading with a decorated vehicle in the ward, said Dr. Wai Phyo Aung, a lower house candidate for NLD. Naing Ngan Lin is rushed to emergency unit in Yangon Hospital along with other party members who have injures. Sources say four people are involved in the attack and police arrested two of them. There was an encouragement resolution to the Myanmar government on December 29th 2014, which was held by the 69th Plenary Session of UN General Assembly that Bangalees so called Rohingyas are granted citizen rights and hung out liberally within the Myanmar State.

1. There were no nomenclature of the Rohingya in the Myanmar ethnic groups throughout the successive ages of history at all. There also had one firm opinion remark as they were Bangalee trespassers which was proclaimed by the embassy of the England from Burma(Myanmar) in December 23rd 1975 expressed that “ Bangladesh and Burma. He admitted that there were upward of a million Bangalee trespassers in Arakan whom the Burmese had some right to eject”. There were no nomenclatures, terms and ethnics as Rohingyas at all.

2. Myanmar is an independent and sovereign state proclaimed by the United Nation. She also has historical significance which is in succession with her own valuable cultural heritages. There once was a prominent world history that Myanmar honourable UN Secretary General U Thant himself solved and handled the world serious cases without prejudices, which were leading to impending third world war, appreciated by the world. That was an epic event of a responsible and accountable leader.

Army commander-in-chief Gen Udomdej Sitabutr left for a two-day visit to Myanmar today for talks aimed at enhancing border cooperation in drug suppression.
Speaking to reporters before boarding a military aircraft for Nay Pyi Taw, Gen Udomdej said he would meet Myanmar armed forces commander-in-chief Snr Gen Min Aung Hlaing and Vice Snr Gen Soe Win, Myanmar’s deputy commander-in-chief of defence services and commander-in-chief of the army.

He said talks would focus on border problems, including drug smugglig, development projects on both sides of the border, and reforestation along the Thai-Myanmar border.

Gen Udomdej said Thai and Myanmar armed forces have been cooperating in many areas, including medical affairs and disaster relief, and he intended to strengthen relations to further improve cooperation.

Gen Udomdet also said he would push for development of Thai and Myanmar villages along the border in a bid to tackle the illicit drug trade and proceed with the reforestation project along the Thai-Myanmar border that Gen Prayut had initiated when he was army chief.

Southern insurgents stepped up violent campaign with the torching of a local health station, local administrative office, surveillance cameras, shooting Buddhists, and putting up banners opposing the peace dialogue effort by the military regime.
Unrest incidents were reported in Pattani, Narathiwatnand Songkhla provinces.

Security officials said Monday southern insurgents in Narathiwat cut down trees to block roads in Rueso district, and set fire to a health office in Tambon Sawor.

But village headman and defence volunteers managed to put out the fire before it raged.

A roadside bomb was also detonated on the road from Waeng to Sungai Kolok near a bridge while a patrol unit passed by.

Nobody was injured in the explosion.

Meanwhile security officials reported banners were put up at eleven locations in Khok Pho, Panare, Yarang, Yaring, Nong Chik, and Kapor districts.

8/11/2014 Mass meeting of Aung San Suu Kyi in Loikaw, Kayah State scheduled today [November 8] will be secured with 150-strong police, according to Kayah State Police Force.
The security protocol aims for rule of law and to prevent from conflicts, said Myint Toe, the Police Major there.
The opposition leader’s public speech will take place at the township square – where annual Kayah Day holds – 4:30 pm in the evening.
The Lady’s guards and the Kayah-based National League for Democracy undertake the security measures and the meeting expects some 30,000 audiences, according to Dr Khin Si Thu, the chairperson of that NLD branch.
“The region hasn’t been familiar with the NLD activities since 1990, after the general elections. The region wasn’t fertile for most political parties including Daw Su’s. Only the National Unity Party has existed [in junta era],” she said, adding that the situation is different now and the government itself willingly assists in security matters.
Suu Kyi will stop at the Loikaw Hotel and arrange a face time with NLD’s central executives, town elders, ethnic armed groups that agreed truce and local civic bodies before the speech.
“It’s good to receive Daw Suu for both the oppositions like us and her own party. She’ll see the reality of our state with her own eyes,” said Phoe Khwar, a committee member of Karenni Youth Union.
This is the Lady’s second visit to Kayah State over the last 25 years.

#PM #Prayuth to #visit #Myanmar #Burma mid- #October

BANGKOK, Sept 25 — Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha plans to visit Myanmar next month as his first destination of international trips to introduce himself as Thailand’s new prime minister.

Thai ambassador to Yangon Pisanu Suvanajata said the prime minister would visit Myanmar first because it i the ASEAN chair, borders Thailand and always has had good ties with Thailand.

Mr Pisanu said at present the staff at all Thai embassies are arranging for the prime minister’s visit schedule with the authorities in the capitals of the respective countries.

He said Myanmar looks forward to Gen Prayut’s visit but the prime minister’s staff has yet to inform him of the exact dates of the arrival.

The ambassador expects the visit to take place in mid-October.

He said that Gen Prayut would call on Myanmar President Thein Sein in Nay Pyi Taw and meet Thai business operators in Yangon.

There are about 2,000 Thai business community members including those running small- and medium-sized enterprises, technology businesses and branches of big companies in Thailand.

Asked whether Gen Prayut would meet National League for Democracy Party chair Aung San Suu Kyi, Mr Pisanu said he did not receive confirmation of that.

The ambassador said in principle the new prime minister would mainly introduce himself and push for international relations on his overseas trips and internal politics would not be relevant. (MCOT)
