“Rohingya” Bengali  Muslims will not be able to vote in Myanmar’s referendum after President Thein Sein withdrew temporary voting rights following protests.

Hundreds of people demonstrated in Yangon Myanmar’s biggest city on Wednesday to protest a government decision to allow people without full citizenship including members of the Bengail,”Rohingya”  minority to vote in an upcoming constitutional referendum.

Most Muslim Bengali “Rohingya” are not citizens and prejudice against them is high in the predominantly Buddhist nation.The temporary identification cards popularly called ‘white cards’ were created by the former military regime for the 2010 elections in which it relinquished power to a nominally civilian government though under heavy army influence. An army-backed political party won seats in areas with sizable numbers of white card holders.’White card holders are not citizens and those who are non-citizens don’t have the right to vote in other countries. This is just a ploy by politicians to win votes’ said Buddhist monk Shin Thumana.

Myanmar slams UN for using term ‘Rohingya’

Myanmar on Wednesday slammed a United ­Nations official for using the term Rohingya to describe a persecuted minority that the ­government refers to as Bengali, which implies they are illegal immigrants from neighboring Bangladesh.
Most of Myanmar’s 1.1 million ethnic Rohingya Muslims are stateless and live in apartheid-like conditions in Rakhine state in the west of the predominantly Buddhist country.
The government is carrying out a controversial citizenship verification process, which requires Rohingya to list their identities as Bengali.
The UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Myanmar, Yanghee Lee, said conditions were “abysmal” in camps where almost 140,000 Rohingya remain after being displaced in clashes with ethnic Rakhine Buddhists in 2012.
Myanmar’s foreign ministry criticized her remarks on ­Wednesday in a press release ­published in a state-backed newspaper.

Local police today added Rohinya migrants into suspected groups of three to find out after DNA results ruled out all their earlier detained suspects from the murder of the two British tourists.
The British brothers and friends to the slain David Miller, Mr Christopher Ware, 24, and his brother James, were now in the custody of the British embassy and they will leave for homes tonight.

Christopher’s DNA test did not match those collected from the scene of murder and the victim’s body.
Besides he also was cleared of the wounds on his wrist which was old and not fresh wounds caused during lighting fireworks.

However the embassy officials said they were ready to give cooperation in case new investigation implicated him again in the murder.

Both were scheduled to depart for home tonight.

Pol Maj-Gen Kiatipong Khoasam-arng, chief of Surat Thani police, said he has received all DNA test results unofficially.

He said from the DNA test, there were mixed DNA samples inside Ms Hannah Witheridge, indicating more than one suspect were involved.

This gave the police clearer picture of suspected groups, but still did not rule out earlier theories, he said.

He said the police now gave more weight to an Asian looking man who appeared in the CCTV video footage of a resort home walking around near the scene wearing no shirt.

The man was at first thought to be a friend of the male victim, but after DNA test didn’t match any detained suspect, the police have to turn to this man again.

But he said so far the police have not found the man.

However the police now have launched massive dragnet to find this man throughout the entire island, he said.

He said investigation would be back to square one with focus now on three groups, namely local Thai people on the island, migrant workers, and tourists.

But he said migrant workers is the most suspected group, particularly the Rohinya migrants, judging from the gruesome nature of the killing.

However the police still have not yet ruled out Christopher Ware because there are still several evidence which are pending forensic examination, he said. THAIPBS

This is what even UN’s originations neglect Myanmar Government. What is the ECC process? UNICEF announce their plan for two years of 2014-2015 but refuse to be transference of past. Because they commited fault on Rakhine People. And if the government can’t make the national policy on UN, INGOs the mass will do evolution when they feel much of stress and unfair just like 26,27.

ႏိုင္ငံေတာ္သမၼတ ဦးသိန္းစိန္၏ မိန္႔ခြန္းမ်ားတြင္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံတြင္ ရိုဟင္ဂ်ာ မရွိေၾကာင္း အတိအလင္းေျပာဆိုထားေသာ္လည္း ၄င္းတို႔က အထက္ပါအတိုင္း သံုးစြဲခဲ့ျခင္းျဖစ္သည္။
