HRW: Burma: Justice for Student Killed in Parjaumg Camp of ABSDF-NB

President Thein Sein should commit to an independent investigation and fair prosecutions of officials and commanders responsible for the mass killings of pro-democracy protesters 25 years ago.

WHY HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH NEVER NOTICED  that more  than  40 students were killed in executing over 100 student comrades alleged to be military intelligence in Parjaung camp of ABSDF-NB in early 1992 .55 student comrades had escaped from the interrogating camp, according to the documents of the former student comrades who emancipated from the Parjaung camp.

WAR CRIMES  ORDERED BY (DR) NAING AUNG,NDD, AND BURMA PARTNERSHIP( FUNDING INCLUSIVE) AND MOE THEE ZUN.

AND WHY THEY CLOSED THE IMPORTANT DOCUMENTS IN NETHERLAND STORED BY  International Institute of Social History.

I’m sorry to say but I learned today from NDD that they will not give permission to access the ABSDF archives (for this particular ABSDF archive which is listed as a NDD collection permission from both NDD and ABSDF is needed)
I’m still waiting for a formal reply from ABSDF, but since you need permission from both, one negative answer is enough to deny you permission to the documents.

We are Burmese!
When riots in Meikhtilar Township in Myanmar happened, almost every media and international organizations including UN, HRW, echoed about it and some even exaggerated the happenings, labeling ethnic cleansing, genocide, Muslims in Myanmar are brutally massacred, or something like that……., But, Why are they silent than normal about current massacres in Malaysia targeting to Myanmar Buddhists? How many lives must the Burmese Buddhists sacrifice further to put the happenings on pages and screens? Please show the so-called RIGHTS you all repeatedly use whenever you get every chance to make the Burmese Buddhists dishonorable in every pages and every screens worldwide.

WHY INTERNATIONAL MEDIA AND MALAYSIA NEWS DON,T SAY THAT,S BURMESE BUDDHISTS HAVE BEEN KILLED,IF YOU NOT INFORMED YOU READ NEWS FROM IRRAWADDY AND MALAYSIA AS BUDDHISTS KILLED MUSLIM, SHAME!!!!!!!!

A delegation from Human Rights Watch was recently in Saudi Arabia. To investigate the mistreatment of women under Saudi Law? To campaign for the rights of homosexuals, subject to the death penalty in Saudi Arabia? To protest the lack of religious freedom in the Saudi Kingdom? To issue a report on Saudi political prisoners?

No, no, no, and no. The delegation arrived to raise money from wealthy Saudis by highlighting HRW’s demonization of Israel. An HRW spokesperson, Sarah Leah Whitson, highlighted HRW’s battles with “pro-Israel pressure groups in the US, the European Union and the United Nations.” (Was Ms. Whitson required to wear a burkha, or are exceptions made for visiting anti-Israel “human rights” activists”? Driving a car, no doubt, was out of the question.)

Apparently, Ms. Whitson found no time to criticize Saudi Arabia’s abysmal human rights record. But never fear, HRW “recently called on the Kingdom to do more to protect the human rights of domestic workers.

There is nothing wrong with a human rights organization worrying about maltreatment of domestic workers. But there is something wrong when a human rights organization goes to one of the worst countries in the world for human rights to raise money to wage lawfare against Israel, and says not a word during the trip about the status of human rights in that country. In fact, it’s a virtual certainty that everyone in Whitson’s audience employs domestic servants, giving her a perfect, untaken opportunity to boast about HRW’s work in improving the servants’ status. But Whitson wasn’t raising money for human rights, she was raising money for HRW’s propaganda campaign against Israel.

Driving a car, no doubt, was out of the question.)

Hundreds of members of radical Islamic groups on Friday called for “jihad in Myanmar” during rallies in front of the Myanmar embassy in Menteng, Jakarta, to protest growing violence against Rohingya Muslims.

“It has been [going on for a] long [time], our brothers in Rohingya have been tortured by Myanmar military, Buddhist monks and Buddhist people in Myanmar. There is no other way for our Muslim brothers in Rohingya, we have to wage jihad,” said Islamic Defender Front (FPI) chairman Rizieq Shihab during a protest at Hotel Indonesia traffic circle.

The FPI, along hundreds of members of the Islamic People Forum (FUI), Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid, Islamic Reformist Movement (Garis), Indonesian Committee for World Muslim Solidarity (Kisdi), Islamic Preaching Council (DDII), Indonesian Muslim Brotherhood Movement (GPMI) and Taruna Muslim (Muslim Youth), marched to the heavily guarded Myanmar embassy on Friday, brandishing banners that read “we want to kill Myanmar Buddhists” and “stop genocide in Myanmar.”

Rizieq, shouting through a loudspeaker to whip up the crowd, called on all Indonesian people to wage jihad against violence in Rohingya.

“Let’s pray for the crime there,” Rizieq said. “We’re obliged to help. Those who can pray, please pray, send them food, clothes, drink and medicines. Those who can give their lives, let’s go there. We will do fund-raising to buy food, drink and weapon for our brothers there.” Continue reading “Deadly Jihad : WE WANT TO KILL MYANMAR,S BUDHIS!!”

’88 Group says”HRW’s report on Rakhine conflict can affect democratic reform”

Human Rights Watch’s one-sided report on the Rakhine conflict can affect Myanmar’s democratic reform, ’88 Generation Students Group says.

The group made the comment during a meeting with two officials from the New York-based HRW in Yangon yesterday.

Pyone Cho, the group’s human rights division in charge, said: “They (HRW officials) should have discussed with those responsible before the report was issued. Now, their act has exacerbated the problem.”

The meeting was attended by Ko Ko Gyi and Pyone Cho from the ’88 Group and HRW officials Phil Robertson and Matthew Smith.

The organisation issued the report last week accusing the Myanmar authorities and Buddhist monks of playing their role in “ethnic cleansing” against the Muslims in western state of Rakhine, where two waves of communal violence broke out between Rakhine nationals and Bengali Muslims last year.

Pyone Cho told the HRW officials they needed to produce a correct report considering the fact that the Myanmar nationals are living in the country peacefully.

“There are some differences between their findings and ours concerning the Rakhine conflict. The HRW officials listened to our comments made in defence of the report. We also clarified on the situation of our national people,” Pyone Cho said.

The ’88 Group has issued a statement in which it said the rule of law and regional security should be considered in the issues of human rights for the victims and citizenship in Rakhine State.

The HRW’s report did not include loses and sufferings of the Rakhine nationals and violations of their human rights. During the meeting, the ‘88 Group also said Myanmar has long suffered from human rights violations, the statement said.

The HRW’s report on the Rakhine conflict has drawn widespread criticism from various fields in Myanmar since it was released on April 22.

President Thein Sein’s spokesman Ye Htut dismissed the report on his Facebook page on the same day the release of the report describing the words and usages contained in report as “unacceptable to the Myanmar government”.

So I ask you just to think of a country like Burma for a minute. Because of steps towards democratic reform and stronger human rights protections, a country that had been isolated for years is now making progress. Has it reached where we want it to be? No. But it’s on the road. It’s moving. And more people are contributing to the economy and participating in the government, leading to faster growth and development. And by starting to embrace universal rights, the Burmese government has opened the doors to a stronger partnership with their neighborhood and with countries around the world.

Many challenges remain. Corruption has to be rooted out. Remaining political prisoners need to be freed. And the horrible mob violence of recent days is another distressing reminder of how long it takes to build what de Tocqueville called the habits of the heart. But if Burma’s leaders stay focused on promoting and protecting the rights of all people in their country, Burma is likely to continue along a promising path of renewal.

Acting Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor ျဖစ္သူ Ms. Uzra Zeya ရဲ႕ ရွင္းလင္း ေျပာၾကားခ်က္ ျဖစ္ပါတယ္-

Thankfully, not all news from 2012 was discouraging. As the Secretary said, we’re encouraging – we’re encouraged by what’s happening in Burma. The Burmese government has released more than 700 political prisoners since 2011, many of whom have been in prison for more than a decade. Aung San Suu Kyi and 42 members of the National League for Democracy were elected to parliament in largely transparent and inclusive bi-elections. The government is relaxing some press censorship and allowing trade unions to form and register. However, many elements of the country’s authoritarian structure remain intact. And as the Secretary noted, we’re also very concerned by the conflict in Kachin state and communal violence in Rhakine state in central Burma.

3. Emerging Democracy and Space for Civil Society in Burma: Burma continued its historic transition towards democracy, beginning with the release of more than 300 political prisoners in January 2012. In addition, the Burmese government has opened new space for civil society by relaxing press censorship, permitting more types of uncensored content online, and permitting a number of assemblies and processions throughout the country.
