Suthep Thaugsuban (21.44): Fellow patriots everywhere determined to topple the Thaksin regime, good evening. Over the past 2 days, the regime has taken the lives of 3 people: Pol Sr Sgt Maj Narong Pitisith and protesters Wasu Suchantabut and Yuthana Ongart. Please remember all of them and their loved ones in your prayers.
(21.52): Our civil movement is peaceful and unarmed. All losses and injuries incurred these two days are the result of Thaksin’s violent-prone regime. Let us be mindful that the regime’s cruelty is dividing our nation, scarring us with injustices that are hard to forget.

21.55): While actions of law enforcement officials and resulting losses at Din Daeng on 26 Dec. 2013 might be to some extent justified as the consequence of officers trying to do their duty in protecting election registration, the violent ambush last night is inexcusable.
(21.59): (Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner) Kamronwit Thoopkrachang, I suspect you! How else could M16s be transported into a zone covered by the Internal Security Act? And Kamronwit has declared he would seek revenge on protesters for the death of Pol Sr Sgt Maj Narong Pitisith – even though he has yet to find evidence pinpointing the protesters, and pictures of “men-in-black” atop the Labor Ministry building have been widely circulated. Only police officers or those granted entry to this building by the police could have made the shot corresponding to the high-angle trajectory of the bullet that killed officer Narong. Yet the police have not explained this to the public. I blame National Police chief Adul Saengsingkaew, deputy chief Worapong Chewpreecha, and Metropolitan Police Bureau commissioner Kamronwit. Shame on you!
(22.07): Adul, Worapong, Kamronwit – how can you seek to avenge the death of officer Narong, but fail to avenge the death of other officers, such as “Darb Yim” who died under Chalerm Yoobamrung’s responsibility, or the others who died during previous UDD protests led by Thida, Nattawut, and Jatuporn?
(22.11): Certain police officers have already marked me and protest leaders Nitithorn Lamluea and Look Mee. But how can you be judge, jury, and executioner, without even investigating the evidence? This, brothers and sisters, is the Thaksin regime at work. And it was this Thaksin-like abuse of power that enabled the shooting of M16s at our friends early this morning.
(22.17): Thai citizens do not view officers or civil servants as enemies; it is only the Thaksin regime that they are seeking to end. Only then will our future generations be able to grow up in a pure and fair environment. Those officers and officials who seek the same for their children and grandchildren should therefore join us. The Thaksin regime serves only Thaksin. But a reformed Thailand would benefit each and every one of us and next generations.
(22.22): Let us draw inspiration from our losses, and vow to march on in their memory and to not give up.
(22.24): Brothers and sisters, I salute your hearts and your ability to peacefully move on from this sad time without allowing your anger and emotions to take over.
Ratchadamnoen Memorial Service for Yuthana Ongart

PDRC spokesperson Akanat Promphan on stage (21.21): On behalf of the PDRC, I would like to express our deep sorrow at the events that took place early this morning around Chamai Maruches Bridge. We extend our prayers for the swift recovery of our injured friends. We would also like to convey our deep condolences for the passing of 26 year-old Yuthana Ongart from Chumporn province. He participated in anti-government protests with PAD and then Kor Por Tor, which staged a memorial for him earlier this evening. Let us take a moment of silence to observe Yuthana’s passing. He has indeed gone too soon. His family and friends, and the families and friends of those injured, are in our thoughts and prayers tonight.
