Pathumthani police have arrested a contractor of the U Place condominium building which collapsed Monday killing three workers and injuring over 20 others.
The contractor, Diew Orabchoan, was arrested yesterday. He was initially charged with being reckless in construction that caused deaths and injuries to others.

Diew is among five suspects wanted by the police in the collapse of the building.

Arrest warrants were issued for them today by the Pathumthani court.

The four others include the owner of the condominium Mrs Pensri Kittipaisarlnont, the engineer Mr Saksit Inthong, owner of the construction firm Plookplaeng Co Mr Chanaichon Kerdthes, and foreman Jira Chaimun.

The four persons are contacting the police to turn themselves in today.

Southern militants triggered bombs at more than 10 locations in Pattani Saturday night causing heavy damages to civilian property.

Number of casualties from explosions , mostly at petrol stations and convenience stores, were not yet known.

#THAILAND : Deadly celebration trip for Students at Naresuan Camp, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province

4 March 2014 (NNT) — Bodies of Siam Technology College students who drowned in Naresuan Camp beach accident will be brought back home to Bangkok.Emergency personnel were dispatched to help the victims of a beach accident, which left 3 dead and close to a dozen injured. The victims were on a school graduation celebration trip at Naresuan Camp, Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province when the accident occurred.

Some of the victims, 2 male and 10 female students from Siam Technology College, were found choking on seawater while others unconscious after an unexpected giant wave swept them off their feet and into deep waters.

The bodies of the deceased have been recovered and will be brought back to the capital for religious ceremonies. Students who survived the ordeal are now preparing to return to Bangkok as well.

The Burma Army had been subjecting villagers (Shan, Palaung and Lahu) to forced labor and other abuses, according to a report coming to the border. The SSA has neither confirmed nor denied it. (SHAN)
