The United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) has called off a plan for the relatives of the red shirts killed in military crackdowns in 2010 to hold a merit-making ceremony for the dead at WatKoetKarnUdom in PathumThani’sKhlongLuang district on Friday.

UDD chairman Jatuporn Prompan announced the cancellation of the merit-making ceremony at Wat Koet Udom in his Facebook page today.

He wrote: “There are now a number of police and soldiers in Wat Koet Karn Udom where the merit-making ceremony for the April 10 heroes was supposed to be held tomorrow. Although the relatives had told them there would be only a ceremony, the police and soldiers still did not let them carry out the the activity. Therefore, the planned merit-making ceremony for the April 10, 2010 heroes has been called off.”
