The body of the 12-year-old Israeli girl who went missing yesterday when a tourist boat caught fire and sank off Ao Nang bay in Krabi was found late this morning.
Her body was found floating in the sea about 100 metres from where the Ao Nang Princess 5 tourist boat sank.
UPDATE PHUKET: Police tonight confirmed that 12-year-old Shani Manil from Israel remains missing and unaccounted for from the passengers and crew rescued from the Krabi ferry that caught fire en route to Phuket this afternoon. Maj Anurak Parinyasathiragul of the Krabi Marine Police confirmed at 8:30pm that 115 passengers – comprising 107 adults and eight children – were on the ‘Ao Nang Princess 5’ when the fire broke out. There were three crew on board. “At this stage one girl is missing: Shani Maril. The rest of the passengers are safe in Phuket,” “Shani’s parents explained that they were separated from their daughter as she was using the toilet when the fire broke out.”
