Two army troopers assigned to provide protection to teachers were wounded in a bomb explosion in front of a school in Pattani’s Nong Chik district this afternoon.
The injured soldiers, Corporal Watcharin Intama and Private Preecha Prempree, were part of a unit on foot patrol to provide protection to teachers at Pattana Sueksa school in Ban Tha Kubo, Tambon Pulopuyo. As they were approaching the school, militants who were suspected to be hiding in the bushes not far away detonated a bomb.

The two victims were later rushed to Kok Pho district hospital for medical treatment with shrapnel wounds on the chests and bodies.
