Myo Htike Tan Thein
I am a Burmese patriot and I am the Director of the Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) which is the global campaigning and lobbying organisation based in London, UK to restore democracy, human rights and rule of law in Burma. I support Arakan and I support Buddhist monks. I support federal union and I support unity in harmony and unity in diversity. Myo Yan Naung Thein is my brother and he loves Burma more than I do. He has been working tirelessly for the betterment of the nation for many years and he will continue to do so many years to come. He scarified his life in the battle of fight against military junta and he got to spend many years in prisons for his opposition to injustice system in Burma. I am solidarity with him and I truly believe that he will do everything he can to help driving Burma to build Burma as a genuine democratic society.
Buddhist monks are very revered in Burma. Buddhist monks have always been at the forefront of the public from the nation building; society building; religious teaching; peace building; language and literature to fight against British and Japanese invader to liberate Burma. They were also at the very forefront of the public fighting against General Ne Win, General Than Shwe and General Khin Nyunt led military juntas and until today Buddhist monks are working tirelessly for the best interest of the citizens, religion and nation. We all are very grateful for the leadership, sacrifices and patriotism of Burmese Buddhist monks.
