Southern militants ambushed a van of the Forward Command of the Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) wounding three army officers, one of them a major, and two civilians in Kapor district of Pattani province. A combined force of soldiers, police and volunteers was sent into the ambush scene late in the evening to hunt down the militants who were believed to be hiding in the area.
