The National Peacekeeping Council has declared a nation-wide curfew between 22.00 to 05.00 hours, starting today 22 May 2014 and remaining in force until further notice. It has also requested all demonstrators to return home immediately; military assistance and transportation is available.
BTS will be terminating services at 21.00 hours. Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Siam Paragon and all department stores under Central Group will close at 20.00 hours today.
Army Commander-in-Chief General Prayuth Chan-ocha has declared a coup d’etat to prevent further loss of life and prevent the conflict from further escalating.
Gen. Prayuth delivered the Peace and Order Maintaining Command (POMC) announcement on national television at approximately 17.00 hours.
