The office will pay 1.3 million baht for 112 tons of paddy.

Decision to buy paddy came after farmers, led by Luang Poo Buddha-issara, dumped several tons of paddy at the office in protest after no officials came out to negotiate with farmers. They demanded the office buy paddy from them at 12,000 baht/ton.

A GLO officials told the abbot that that money would be given in form financial assistance to the monks’ foundation.

The  monk had to advance the money from his foundation to farmers and his foundation would be able cash the cheque of GLO on March 26.

The farmers later agreed to end the blockade.

Two M 79 grenades were fired into the rally site of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee at the Sala Chalermprakiat pavillion in Chonbui Muang district where 2,000 demonstrators were attending but both missed the target.

The two grenades landed at the office of the Tambon Bangsai Municipality at about 9.30 p.m Friday night  damaging glass panes and cars parked nearby.

EOD police said the perpetrators fired the grenades from a running vehicle and therefore missed the crowd a distance.
If the grenades landed in the rally site, casualties would be high.
Activist entertainers Yong Lookyee and Japong Sarakam were speakers on the stage when the grenades were fired.

Chiang Mai was rocked by three separate bomb explosions late Friday night, causing injuries to three people, and  damages to cars.
The first explosion happened at Nong Hoi petrol station at 9.30 p.m. where three persons were injured.

The second bomb attack was reported at Andaman Seafood restaurant on Mahidol road at about 10.10 p.m. Three cars were damaged.

The third explosion happened at Boonrawd Brewery Co office in Sarapee district. Two hand grenades were hurled into the compound and landed near the warehouse. One grenade exploded but another was dud.
Police said they have not yet established the three separate grenade attacks would have any political links..

4. พฤติการณ์ คนร้ายไม่ทราบว่าเป็นใคร นำลวดผูกกับลูกระเบิดขว้าง RGD 5 ติดบริเวณล้อหน้าด้านซ้าย รถยนต์เก๋ง ยี่ห้อนิสสัน ทีด้า สีขาว จอดบริเวณข้างร้านอันดามันซีฟู้ด แล้วโยงปลายอีกด้านไปมัดกับล้อหน้ารถยนต์เก๋งยี่ห้อฮอนด้า ซิตี้ สีเทา

พอเวลาประมาณ 22.00 น. รถยนต์ฮอนด้าได้ถอยออกจากที่จอดทำให้สลักระเบิดถูกดึงออกจึงเกิดระเบิดขึ้นแรงระเบิดทำให้รถทั้งสองคันเสียหาย เบื้องต้นไม่มีผู้บาดเจ็บ

20th March 2014Dear All,

I am sorry to tell you about the tragedy of Bumtsit Pa camp 2, the IDPs coming from Nam Lim Pa and near villages.

This morning around 2:00 am, one of the house (Emergency Tent provided by UNHCR) from Bumtsit Pa Camp 2 was accidentally burnt down and a girl, Nhkum Mai Ra, 13 years old dead. Her mother Labang Kaw (35 yrs) and her youngest brother Nhkum Doi Awng (3 yrs) have been injured by the fire.

Labang Kaw (mother have 5 childrens) is widow. She cannot walk with burnt injury on her leg, tight and her face. her youngest son have been injured on his leg and his back (seriously).

All of the belonging burnt down. Fortunately, all of the people from the neighbors can stop the fire and only one tent burnt down.

Wunpawng Ninghtoi provides the beds, clothes, some materials for the household and we refer mother and a child to the china hospital for their treatment.

IRRC construct the tent for them and help them for their need. This morning around 10:00 am they organized the funeral ceremony for Nhkum Mai Ra.

Recently, the weather situation is bad in here very windy, dusty and they should not stay on the emergency tent for long term.

I am sorry for the family and for the IDPs from the camps.
