credit nyo ohn myint 1. On March 9-10, 2014, members of the Union Peace Making Work Committee, Tatmadaw representatives, Hluttaw members, and representatives of the ethnic armed groups’ Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team (NCCT) held cordial discussions at the Myanmar Peace Center.

2. Both sides agreed to jointly draft a single text of the nationwide ceasefire agreement. To facilitate this effort, the two sides agreed to establish a Joint Nationwide Ceasefire Drafting Work Group composed of an equal number of members from both sides.

3. The two sides agreed to meet for further discussions during the last week of March 2014. There was also agreement to invite other ethnic armed groups to the next nationwide ceasefire coordination meeting.

4. The two sides agreed to prepare a draft of the nationwide ceasefire agreement with the following seven (7) sections:

It has been two years since the riots in Rakhine State left more than 200 dead and hundreds of thousands homeless, but the tension still burns between ethnic Rakhines and Bengalis. Both the Rakhine and Bengali communities have suffered from the violence since a tide of migrants rushed in through the western border of Myanmar. However, international media organizations and various associations continue to portray the Bengalis as the population most antagonized by the violence in Rakhine State, and the Rakhine ethnics—and the country as a whole—as discriminating against Muslim communities in the western state.

The international media’s coverage of events has become more aggressive, to the point of insulting Buddhist Rakhines and the religion itself, which is practiced by most people in Myanmar. Religion and national identity are very delicate issues, but international observers have now altered the motive of the violence from an uncontrolled immigration problem to a religious and nationalistic cause. Moreover, Buddhism, a religion of kindness and love, is frequently depicted as violent and extreme.

A wild elephant which was seriously injured after it was hit by car while attempting to cross a road in Wang Chan district of Rayong before dawn today (Wednesday) has succumbed to its death this afternoon.

The accident took place at about 5 a.m. on the Ban Bung-Klaeng road when a Mitsubishi Pajero SUV struck the elephant. The accident prompted a following pick-up truck to avoid hitting the beast and slammed into the rear of a six wheeler killing six passengers and injuring two others.

Si Racha park officials were dispatched to the scene of the accident with a plan to move the injured elephant to an elephant hospital in Kanchanaburi’s Saiyoke district for treatment. However, the beast died before it could be taken to the hospital.

Meanwhile, another team of some 30 officials from Ang Rue Nai wildlife sanctuary were dispatched to the scene where two male elephants were reported to have been sighted as they appeared to come to tend to the dead beast.

The park officials were afraid that the two elephants might be hit by cars travelling on the road. They planned to close down the road temporarily to allow the two elephants to cross the road safety.วันที่ 13 มีนาคม วันช้างไทย 13.march elephant day

12/3/57 .ฉพ.ทพ.33 พบถ้ำบนภูเขารอยต่อระหว่าง ธารโต และ เบตง ยะลา บริเวณบ้านสามร้อยไร่ คาดเป็นแหล่งซ่อนตัวผู้ก่อการร้าย มีทางเข้าออกหลายทาง ด้านในเป็นโถงใหญ่

15.35 น. หน่วยเฉพาะกิจ ทหารพรานที่ 33 พบถ้ำขนาดใหญ่ บนภูเขารอยต่อระหว่าง ธารโต และ เบตง บริเวณบ้านสามร้อยไร่ คาดว่าเป็นแหล่งซ่อนตัวผู้ก่อการร้าย

โดยถ้ำดังกล่าวมีทางเข้าหลายทาง ด้านในเป็นโถงใหญ่ แบ่งออกเป็นห้อง มีทางระบายอากาศ และมีเส้นทางเข้าสู่ประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน ลึกเข้าไปด้านในเป็นป่ารกทึบ และภูเขาสูง ชาวบ้านธรรมดาไม่น่าจะเข้าไป เจ้าหน้าที่สันนิษฐานว่าน่าจะเป็นทางผ่านของผู้ก่อการร้ายที่ใช้เส้นทางนี้ไปยังประเทศเพื่อนบ้าน

นอกจากนี้ยังพบการขุดคูเรทโดยรอบ มีร่องรอยการล่าสัตว์ และร่องรอยการก่อไฟประกอบอาหารบริเวณปากทางเข้าถ้ำ

ANTI GOVERNMENT PROTESTER PDRC to expose shocking corruption conspiracy

A People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) co-leader Sathit Wongnongtoei said the PDRC has obtained a very import information that related to what he called “shocking” corruption conspiracy in the country’s energy sector that has exploited the country’s wealth for over a decade.

Sathit who was a former Democrat party’s MP announced at the Lumphini protest site before midnight that this significant information and evidence revealed how the conspiracy started and who were in connection.

The conspiracy still prevails even though the ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra was overthrown and had to run away from the country after the Supreme Court sentenced him to serve two years in prison for involving in the purchase of a piece of land on Ratchadapisek while he was prime minister.

He said although Thaksin has gone, but the regime still haunts the country and continues to plunder the country’s resources, particularly energy which he said has made not only Thaksin but all his family members, friends and lackeys richer while the majority of the population remains poor and poorer.

He did not elaborate the information which has just been obtained and rectified but said if it is exposed, it will “shock” not only Thais but also the world.

He recalled why Thaksina has to sell his telecom business and turn to energy instead as he realized of the even greater and immense interest that he could get from energy than telecom business.

He said this information will be unraveled in the next few days and that the Thaksin regime would be shaken if it is exposed. THAIPBS
