Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban today strengthened the anti-government movement to zero in on businesses owned by the Shinawatra family.
In an announcement at the Chaeng Wattana rally site, Mr Suthep stood firm that the move to oust caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra would continue while the political pressure would expand to all businesses controlled by the Shinawatra family.
Buddhist monk Phra Buddha Isara, who has led the Chaeng Wattana venue protest, was standing at Mr Suthep’s side during his five-minute speech to demonstrators.
Phra Buddha Isara expressed delight at Mr Suthep’s visit and moral support to the protesters at Chaeng Wattana, adding that some protesters would move to rally at a high-rise, air-conditioned building tomorrow.
He would not elaborate
