Suthep Thaugsuban (20.22): The farmers have declared they will come to Bangkok to chase Yingluck from office this 19 February. Be ready, muanmahaprachachon here and in the provinces. Come to Bangkok. On the 19th we will have a massive demonstration to unseat Yingluck and her fake government. It’s time for them to leave once and for all.

Civil servants, police officers, troops, come stand with the people and reclaim our sovereign authority from Yingluck’s cabinet and the Thaksin regime on the 19th. Thaksin – you should come too.We will be stationed from Makkawan to Misagawan, then along Ratchadamnoen Ave. to Orathai Road.

All weapons are banned – do not bring any weapons. We will be adhering to our peaceful, unarmed, non violent demonstrations. Chalerm is on the hunt and we don’t know what he’s going to do tomorrow. And bring your prayer books. We’ll stick together so if Chalerm tries to bring us down he’ll have to take all of us. BANGKOK, 17 February 2014 (NNT) – The Center for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) has launched a TV program in collaboration with the Public Relations Department (PRD) to live broadcast its operations to take protest sites back from anti-government protesters this week.Deputy Government Spokesperson Lt. Sunisa Lertphakhawat said CMPO Director Chalerm Yubamrung had assigned the PRD to produce the special television program “Peace for Bangkok Mission” on the NBT channel. The program would live broadcast the center’s operations to vacate government buildings and roads currently occupied by the People’s Democratic Reform Committee. It was to show the public that the CMPO authorities performed their operations in a transparent manner in line with the laws and that they did not use force to crack down on the protesters, the deputy spokesperson said. Other media were welcome to relay the signals to their stations and reporters were invited to cover the operations firsthand, Lt. Sunisa said. Captured here is the director of Mongkut Wattana private hospital, the same hospital that has been treating those at Chaeng Wattana for free. The director also peacefully resisted the police at Chaeng Wattana this morning. His bravery reflects that demonstrated by the public health workers and medical volunteers that have been by our side since the beginning. We thank you. Metropolitan Police commander Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit Thoopkrachang has been instructed by the CMPO to reclaim the Government House, the Interior Ministry, the Energy Ministry and Ratchadamnoen Road. These sites are expected to be re-opened by the end of this week at the latest.Other sites set to be reclaimed include the Government Complex, Chaeng Wattana Road and Democracy Monument. Pol Lt Gen Kamronwit has insisted that police will not use force to disperse protesters and all operations will be in line with international standards. Police plan to apprehend anti-government protest leaders wanted by authorities as soon as possible. Investigations over the group’s acts of public disturbance and insurrection will also be sped up. Police have confirmed that their operations are transparent and there will be no night-time operation to clear away protesters.

Today we marched to Government House and sealed it off from the likes of Yingluck and Chalerm. But last night I also challenged Thaksin. I said, we all know that Thaksin is the puppet master here. Chalerm is simply a subordinate. So Thaksin should actually come to lead this operation in the flesh rather than lurking in the shadows. Thaksin, if you leave this task in someone else’s hands, this won’t end. If you’re a man, you’ll come in person, Thaksin. If you don’t have the guts to come then never show up in Thailand again.

Feb 17 —  Anti government protester led by Suthep Thaugsuban moved to seal off Government House to prevent caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra from returning to work at her office there.

Mr Suthep, People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) secretary general, led PDRC supporters from rally sites at Pathumwan, Silom, and Ratchaprasong, marching together from Hua Chang bridge to join the allied group of the Network of Students and People for the Reform of Thailand (NSPRT) which camped out near Government House.

Mr Suthep said earlier that the objective of the move today was to prevent Ms Yingluck from accessing Government House after the Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order (CMPO) has announced its intention to retake the area around Government House this week.

Issara Somchai, a PDRC leader, led protesters from Lumpini Park to Government House last night.

 

Upon arrival, the PDRC leaders instructed the protesters not to intrude into Government House premises, but just to cordon off the compound. (MCOT online news)

11th farmer took his life –

his wife Chantana, 47, her husband complained about being heavily in debt after he could not get cash from the rice he pledged with the government.

She said her husband was a farmer leader who borrowed rice seedlings, fertilizers, pesticides from local financiers and shared with farmers in his group to begin planting with promise to pay them after the harvest and get money from the pledged rice.

But after the harvests, no farmers were paid for the rice they pledged, thus putting her husband in trouble for all things secured from financiers who kept asking him daily to repay.

วันนี้ 9:30 น. คณะผู้แทนสำนักงานผู้ตรวจการแผ่นดิน และ คณะผู้แทนสำนักงานคณะกรรมการสิทธิมนุษยชนแห่งชาติ เข้าพบหลวงปู่ เจรจาเรื่องขอเข้าทำงาน

ซึ่งหลวงปู่แจ้งว่าไม่เคยปิดกั้นไม่ให้พวกคุณเข้าทำงาน พวกคุณออกไปกันเองต่างหาก ที่จริงน่าจะอยู่ด้วยกันตั้งแต่วันแรก หลวงปู่ และผู้ชุมนุมจะได้ไม่ถูกรังแก

พูดถึงเรื่องที่หลวงปู่ถูกฟ้องเกี่ยวกับปิดหน่วยเลือกตั้ง อย่างนี้หลวงปู่และผู้ชุมนุมถูกละเมิดสิทธิมนุษยชนหรือไม่ เพราะผู้ร้องทุกข์ เป็นเจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจ ไม่ใช่ กกต. ไม่มีผลกระทบโดยตรง ไม่ใช่เจ้าทุกข์ ประเด็นแรก ฟ้องร้องโดยไม่เคยมีหมายเรียกมาก่อน อีกประเด็น หลวงปู่และผู้ชุมนุมไม่ได้ปิดสำนักงานเขต ไม่ได้เป็นคนคล้องประตู ไม่ได้ปิดถนน พวกคุณก็อยู่ด้วยวันนั้น แล้วหลวงปู่ไปละเมิดสิทธิตรงไหน อย่างนี้ถือว่าหลวงปู่และผู้ชุมนุมเป็นฝ่ายถูกละเมิดสิทธิ

ทั้งนี้ วันพรุ่งนี้ทั้งสองหน่วยงานจะเริ่มกลับเข้าทำงาน (ที่จริงหลวงปู่อยากให้เริ่มวันนี้เลยด้วยซ้ำ) และวันพุธนี้ หลวงปู่จะนำเอกสารเข้าเกี่ยวกับเรื่องที่ถูกฟ้อง เข้าไปร้องเรียนกับทั้งสองหน่วยงาน ตำรวจใช้อำนาจหน้าที่ในทางมิชอบ และได้ถามกลับไปว่า พวกคุณไม่อยากปฏิรูปบ้างหรือ

การใช้คำว่าต้องเป็นกลาง บางทีมันก็ใจดำเหมือนกัน ต้องคิดให้ได้ว่า ผู้มีอำนาจกดขี่ผู้ไม่มีอำนาจ ก็ต้องเข้าข้างผู้ไม่มีอำนาจไว้ก่อน เพราะไม่มีประชาชนคนไหนไปกดขี่รัฐบาลได้ ไม่มีกำลังทรัพย์ที่จะไปต่อสู้
