yesterday Suthep Thaugsuban (19.53): I’d like to speak about Luang Buddha Isara. CMPO head Chalerm has announced that he will reclaim Luang Buddha Isara’s protest site on the 6th. DSI chief Tharit Pengdit has also requested arrest warrants for 16 core leaders, which we think includes Luang Buddha Isara as well. I have conveyed this to him and asked if he would like to move, but he has indicated that he would like to stay on at Chaeng Wattana. I’m therefore imploring all of his followers and friends to please go keep him company.
Meanwhile the National Buddhism Office director Mr Nopparat Benjaweattananan said today that his office had notified the Nakhon Pathom provincial sangha council to warn and investigate the conduct of the protesting monk. However, the monk, abbot of Wat Om Noi, has ignored the warning.Mr Nopparat further said the office had no power to defrock the protesting monk as the power lies with Nakhon Pathom sangha council.
