Seven-year-old Buddhist minor girl named Su Myat Naing was sexually assaulted by by her rented house’s owner 65-year-old Muslim man in Mandalay.

The assault took place on January 12 when the victim’s parent was away from their rented house.

The couple, U Thein Soe and Daw Thin Thin Nwe, were staying in a rented house, along with her three daughters in Nyaung-gwe quarter, Aung Myay Thar Zan Township, Mandalay, owned by the Muslim man, U Aung Khin aged 65.

On January 12, U Aung Khin took advantage of the parent’s absence from the house and committed sexual assault on the minor girl.

It happened that at 3:30 pm, Daw Thin Thin Nwe came back for some reasons and caught U Aung Khin red-handed comitting sexual assault on her daughter.

The mother of the victim later filed a complaint at the police station on that day. The police arrested the accused at 4:00 pm.

28 ม.ค.57 ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานจากโรงพยาบาลราชวิถี ถึงความคืบหน้า หลังจากที่ได้มีการนำตัวผู้ก่อเหตุใช้อาวุธปืนยิงใส่กลุ่มผู้ชุมนุม กปปส.ที่บริเวณด้านหน้าสโมสรกองทัพบก ถ.วิภาวดี และถูกการ์ด กปปส.ควบคุมตัวและได้รับบาดเจ็บส่งมารักษาที่รพ.ราชวิถีว่า การ์ด กปปส ได้มีการประสานเจรจาด่วนไปยังผู้บริหาร รพ. ราชวิถี โดยมี นพ .มานัส โพธาภรณ์ รอง ผอ.รพ.ราชวิถี เป็นผู้เจรจา

ผลการหารือเบื้องต้นนั้น ทางโรงพยาบาลยืนยันจะให้ผู้ป่วยรักษาตัวอยู่ที่ รพ ราชวิถีไปก่อน จนกว่าสถานการณ์จะคลี่คลาย ซึ่งคงต้องคงต้องให้ทุกฝ่ายเจรจาให้ได้ข้อยุติก่อน นอกจากนี้ได้มีการประสานสารวัตรทหาร เข้ามาดูแลแล้ว

ผู้สื่อข่าวรายงานอีกว่า ระหว่างรักษาตัวได้มีนายตำรวจ นอกเครื่องแบบ  ได้โชว์บัตร ข้าราชการ แสดงตนว่าเป็นยศ พันตำรวจโท พร้อมระบุว่า เข้ามารับลูกน้อง แต่การ์ดที่อยู่ในบริเวณนั้นได้เข้าขัดขวาง

กระทั่งเวลา 18.00 น.นพ .อุดม เชาวรินทร์ ผอ รพ.ราชวิถี แถลงถึงความคืบหน้าอาการบาดเจ็บว่า  ผู้ป่วยได้รับบาดเจ็บบริเวณชายโครง ช่องปอด ซึ่งแพทย์ได้ทำการดูดน้ำที่ปอดออกแล้ว ส่วนแผลที่บริเวณศีรษะนั้น แพทย์ได้มีการสแกนแล้วพบว่า กะโหลกร้าว ส่วนสมองไม่ได้รับการกระทบกระเทือน อาการโดยรวมถือว่าปลอดภัยสามารถพูดคุยได้ ซึ่งแพทย์ก็ได้ดูแลอาการผู้ป่วยอย่างใกล้ชิด

“เรายังคงให้พักรักษาตัวที่รพ.ราชวิถีไปก่อน จึงจะมีการประเมินอาการอีกครั้ง นอกจากนี้เรายังได้มีการประสานไปยังสารวัตรทหารเพื่อเข้ามาดูแลความปลอดภัยให้กับผู้ป่วยอีกด้วย ขณะที่ในส่วนของรพ.นั้นก็จะดูแลผู้ป่วยอย่างเต็มที่ ส่วนกรณีที่มีนายตำรวจยศ พ.ต.ท.อ้างว่าเป็นผู้บังคับบัญชาของผู้ป่วยและจะมารับตัวผู้ป่วยนั้น ขณะนี้ยังไม่ได้รับการประสานจากนายตำรวจคนดังกล่าว”

THAILAND : YINGLUCK PM to be investigated on rice deal and impeachment bid

THAI PBS  The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has decided to investigate caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra for alleged negligence of duty in connection with the Chinese rice deal scandal and the impeachment bid against her regarding the same rice deal.

Two commissioners, Mr Vicha Mahakhun and Mr Prasart Pongsivapai, will be responsible for the probe.

Mr Vicha said that the commission decided to merge the two cases because they were of the same issue.  He said he could not predict when the probe would be completed but the commission was duty bound by the Constitution to complete it without delay.

He went on to say that the prime minister had the right to raise objection against the investigators.

Earlier, the NACC filed corruption charges against former commerce minister Boonsong Teriyapirom, former deputy commerce minister Poom Sarapol and 14 other commerce officials and businessmen for involvement in the nonexistent Chinese rice deal.

Mr Vicha insisted that the probe against Ms Yingluck was not politically motivated or a political persecution against her.

THAILAND : It’s final: General election on Sunday, as scheduled

BANGKOK, Jan 28 – The caretaker government stood firm that the general election will be held this Sunday as originally scheduled, the Election Commission (EC) announced today.

EC chairman Supachai Somcharoen said after a meeting with caretaker Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra that the government wanted the election to be held as scheduled in response to the demand of the majority of Thai people.

The advance election has proved that people in 66 provinces, or the majority of Thailand’s population, were in favour of the election. The government believed that an election delay will not stop the anti-government protest and called on the EC to perform its duty, he said.

“We have followed the Constitution Court’s suggestion (to hold talks the government). We will work with our full capability in organising the election. We will ask police and military personnel to guard sensitive and violence-prone areas,” he said.

Asked who will be accountable for violence on Sunday, Mr Supachai said the issue was not raised for discussion.

“If balloting is disrupted, we will start with negotiations (with protesters) the way we did last Sunday during the advance election. If trouble remains, we will close the polling booth,” he said.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul earlier threatened to take legal action against the EC for not performing its duty in organising the general election.

In his response to Mr Surapong’s statement, the EC chairman said the agency has done its best in holding the election but “we won’t have any problem if he wants to take action against us.”

Ms Yingluck was accompanied by several senior Cabinet members during her meeting with all five EC members today. (MCOT online news)

THAILAND :Another leader of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) being targeted.

Violence is still breaking out amid the political troubles in the country with another leader of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) being targeted. The home of a leader of the PDRC in Samut Songkram province has been rocked with gunshots in two consecutive days but luckily no one was injured.

The home of Paibul Thirawongjinda, one of the leaders of the PDRC, at 51/5 Rajaprasit Road in Mae Klong district in Samut Songkram province was the target of gunmen who sprayed bullets at  the premises late last night.

Police were called in to investigate the scene and found scattered shell casings from a weapon of unknown caliber. The shells were concentrated in four places on the roof of the home and one other spot in front of a doorway.

Mr Paibul stated that he was certain that the shooting was politically motivated and said that this was the second time that his home has been attacked, the previous occasion being only the day before.

In another development, the home of another leader of the PDRC, Samrarn Rodpetch, was the target of a hand grenade that was thrown into the premises.

Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) police were called in to investigate and found fragments of shrapnel and a grenade pin in front of the entrance to the home.

Police believe the fragments to be from an M 67 hand grenade which is commonly used by military and police personnel. They also stated this was the first time that such a weapon was used in such circumstances and believe that this explosion has no connection to the one which happened recently which was thrown into and detonated amid a throng of demonstrators.

Meanwhile the Democrat Party today produced a video clip of the fatal shooting of the late leader and founder of the People’s Army to Overthrow Thaksin Regime, Suthin Tharatin,  in front of a polling station at Wat Sri Eam temple in Bang Na.

The video clip they produced clearly show three assailants who approached his vehicle and shot at Mr Suthin.

Each of the men’s faces can be clearly seen as well as the weapons they were wielding. The Democrats stated that they were handing over the evidence to the police so that immediate action can be taken to apprehend the suspects.
