Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) fully supports a dialogue between Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, U Thein Sein, U Shwe Mann and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing which should be taken place without delay for the sake of national reconciliation, peace and development of Burma.
Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) said review and revise of the 2008 constitution is a MUST. Before we could possible address elections in the future, we must address the validity of the 2008 constitution. Drafted by the junta, this document is far from credible or constitutional. Free, fair and all inclusive is not what this document represents. The referendum was ushered into existence under questionable conditions including extortion and rigged ballots.
We would like to draw particular attention on these points:
• The military systematically took 25% of the parliamentary seats automatically
• The military commander in chief is given absolute authority to dissolve the parliament
• The military controls important ministerial positions such as Defence Affairs, Border Affairs and Home Affairs
• Buddhist monks are not allowed to vote in the parliamentary elections
Giving the military 25% of the parliamentary seats and unbridled authoritarian control are not the will of people of Burma. This is incomprehensible and totally unacceptable to the people of Burma.
In order to overcome current constitutional crisis, Burma Democratic Concern (BDC) supports having a dialogue between Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, U Thein Sein, U Shwe Mann and Senior General Min Aung Hlaing; immediately for the sake of people of Burma and development of Burma.

Protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban call to Thai people nationwide to jointly stand up against the government on Monday.
The anti-government protesters’s plan to march to the Government House on Monday would be their final movement to victory if the public turned up en masse to join the demonstration, according to spokesman for the “People’s Democratic Reform Committee.”
Akanat Promphan, former Democrat MP for Bangkok assured that the march on Monday would be the final fight. Every groups would move at the same time at 9.39am to the Government House.
He said if a large number of the public turned up to join the rally, there would be definite change on that day.
However, if only few people joined the demonstration, the protest leaders would end their fight to root out what they called the Thaksin Regime and turn themselves in to police to fight the charges.
The protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban, secretary general of the People’s Democratic Reform Committee, announced on Friday night a call to Thai people nationwide to jointly stand up against the government on Monday.
The former Democrat MP and deputy premier urged people to leave their residences and take to the city streets heading for a single destination – Government House.
He urged Thais to decide what side they would choose.
“If you want to be a free man, you must come out. If you decide to be Thaksin’s slave for the rest of your life, stay at home,” he said.
He has also asked civil servants to go on strike and join the people’s massive demonstrations.
The former Surat Thani MP said he would lead protesters from the Government Complex on Changwattana Road to Government House, about 17 km away, while protesters on Rajdamnoen Avenue and the Finance Ministry will simultaneously leave their rally sites for the same destination.
