China and new air-defense identification zone threatens Japan’s sovereignty

China is playing a very dangerous game by installing an “air-defense identification zone” over territory outside of the jurisdiction of this nation. This brinkmanship will only reinforce the negative image of China throughout the region based on internal disputes and external factors. The latest announcement by China will only further the cause of Japan throughout the Mekong Delta and the Asia Pacific based on the mutual suspicions of several nations.

It appears that China believes that it can crush the Tibetan Buddhists and Xinjiang Muslims by enormous Han migration at home. While at the same time the one party state of China threatens regional stability by claiming a host of disputed areas. Past disputes were always tempered by the fact that China was weak in the field of economics and military prowess. However, the new China, since Deng Xiaoping introduced genuine economic reforms many decades ago, is now a powerhouse in many areas. BANGKOK, 25 November 2013 (NNT) – The Thai Broadcast Journalists Association (TBJA) and the Thai Journalists Association (TJA) have called on the protesters to understand the duty of the media and allow them to report the news freely.The two associations announced on Monday that the press’ reporting of political rallies during this period might agitate demonstrators of different groups, but media members had tried their best in informing the public of facts. The TBJA and the TJA also called on all media organizations to report in a straightforward manner and treat all sides with fairness, so that the public could have correct and complete information for their decision making.The TBJA and the TJA also strongly encouraged the media to strictly adhere to media ethics when reporting conflicts, and called on the government to maintain peace and order in line with the law. Angola Bans Islam, Destroys Mosques

LUANDA – According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.

“The process of legalization of Islamhas not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice,” Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22.

Silva comments were given during her visit last Tuesday to the 6th Commission of the National Assembly.

The Angolan government would also be obliged to update the current national context as a way of fighting the rise of new religious congregation whose religious assemblies are contrary to “habits and customs to Angolan culture,” Silva added.

Same as Islam, Silva announced that there are at least 194 religious sects that were not authorized to have their activities.

MyanmarBurma: to issue red passports to migrant workers in Thailand

Myanmar will issue ordinary passports (red passports) to migrant workers in Thailand even if their visas are no longer valid, said Myo Aung, a director-general from the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security.

The ordinary passport with a red cover will replace the temporary ones, often referred to as violet passports. New passport applications together with related documents must be submitted to respective passport centres in the border region.

But those migrant workers without related documents will reportedly have to return Myanmar for national citizenship cards and household registrations.

Under an agreement between Thai and Myanmar governments, the temporary passports that allow a four-year visa for Myanmar migrant workers to stay in Thailand were issued first. And now the Myanmar government is preparing to issue ordinary passports.

With new passports, Myanmar workers can work not only in Thailand but also in other countries.

However, 70 percent of Myanmar workers in Thailand find it difficult to apply for new passports as they have no citizenship cards and household registrations. And there have been tens of thousands of Myanmar migrant workers holding overstay visas, and some of them are out of work because of their job suspensions, according to the Migrant Workers’ Rights Network, a Thailand-based labour-related association.

According to the data released by the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security, there are more than 10,000 Myanmar migrant workers whose visas have no longer valid but only 37 have applied for new passports.
