Joint Shan State Army (SSA) patrol ran into Burma Army’s Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) 501 patrol yesterday evening. The Shans retired. The Burma Army formed a joint search-and-destroy column made up of elements from LIB 501 and LIB 505. It resulted in another clash this morning. 5 dead on the Burma Army side, according to Army run militia sources. The clashes took place 20 miles north of Hsipaw.(SHAN)
