KNU Negotiates Holding Political Talks with all Armed Groups this Year

Vice-chairman of the Union Peacemaking Work Committee U Aung Min, who has announced that an armistice with all armed ethnic minorities will be signed this year, and KNU Chairman General Mutu Say Pho discussed the idea of arranging a political discussion involving all armed ethnic groups in 2013, claims an official from the Myanmar Peace Center.

The meeting between U Aung Min and General Mutu Say Pho took place at the Myanmar Peace Center from July 15th to July 16th.

In the said meeting, U Aung Min and General Mutu Say Pho negotiated the idea of holding political talks with armed ethnic groups promptly in 2013, the case of constitution, and matters concerning possible political conditions in 2015, says an official from the Myanmar Peace Center.

The technology support team of KNU met with some military leaders on June 16th and negotiated ethical disciplines for the upcoming talks.

The Union Peacemaking Work Committee, which signed a 7 point agreement with the KIO/KIA in June, 2013, has announced that a peace discussion involving all armed organizations will be held in July.
