Hafiz Md. Saeed in the past had blamed the Myanmar regime for “sufferings of Rohingyas” and was reported to have been actively planning to recruit Rohingyas to target the Myanmar government. Soon after the riots in 2012, LeT using its trained Rohingya terrorists formed an organisation known as Difa-e Mussalman Arakan-Burma with a view to unite the disgruntled Rohingyas to oppose the ruling regime in Myanmar.

In August the LeT sent important functionaries to forge links of this new outfit with other Islamic terrorist groups both in Myanmar and Bangladesh. This was an aimed at enhancing the influence of this outfit and ensuring a coordinated action against the Myanmar regime.

88 Generation Student Group including Min Ko Naing, will pay a visit to Britain

Eight members from ‘88 Generation Student Group including Min Ko Naing, will pay a visit to Britain in coming June which is sponsored by UK’s government.

The group includes Ko Ko Gyi, Min Zeya, Mya Aye, Htay Kywe, Marki, Mimi and Nilar Thein. The visit will begin on June 19 and end on June 25.

During the trip, they are planning to meet top officials from the British Government and Myanmar community.

This will be the fourth foreign visit for Min Ko Naing. His first was Philippines in January followed by Singapore and European countries.

I live in Meiktila and I have been checking for information uploaded on facebook related to recent events here. I realized that there has been a lot of information that was missing from online articles about the riots.

The riots mainly happened in the Thiri Mingalar, Chan Aye, Mingalar Zayar and Pha Sa Pa La quarters of Meiktila, Myanmar.

I think that everyone already knew about the reports of rioters breaking down a jewellery store and fires started the Thiri Mingalar quarter, but this was in response to an innocent monk that was just killed by Muslim extremists.
