အခ်ဳပ္အခ်ာအာဏာအေရးကို ထိပါးေျပာဆိုသည့္ ကြင္တားနား အား မိမိတို႔က မလိုလားေသာ သေဘာထား ယခင္ရွိခဲ့သည့္အတိုင္း ယခုလည္း ယင္းသေဘာထား အတိုင္းပင္ျဖစ္သည္ ဟု ရခိုင္တိုင္းရင္းသားမ်ားတိုးတက္ေရးပါတီ (RNDP) ေခါင္းေဆာင္တစ္ဦး က Coral Arakan အား ေျပာၾကားသည္။

ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံဆုိင္ရာ ကုလသမဂၢ လူ႔အခြင့္အေရး အထူးကုိယ္စားလွယ္ ေသာမတ္စ္အိုေဟး ကြင္တားနား (Tomas Ojea Quintana) သည္ “၁၉၈၂-ခုႏွစ္ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံသားဥပေဒ ကို ျပန္လည္ သံုးသပ္ေပးရန္” ေတာင္းဆိုကာ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ၏ ဥပေဒျပဳခြင့္အာဏာကို ၀င္ေရာက္စြက္ဖက္ခဲ့သျဖင့္ ၄င္းအား အစားထိုးကာေနာက္တစ္ဦး ခန္႔အပ္ေပးပါရန္ (RNDP) ပါတီက ထုတ္ျပန္ခ်က္ထုတ္ထားသည့္အတိုင္း ယင္းသေဘာထားမွာ မေျပာင္းမလဲဘဲ ယခင္အတိုင္းရွိေနသည္ ဟု RNDP ၏ အတြင္းေရးမွဴးအဖြဲ႕၀င္တစ္ဦးျဖစ္သူ ဦးခိုင္ျပည္စိုးက Coral Arakan အား ေျပာၾကားသည္။

၂၀၁၂-ခုႏွစ္ ၾသဂုတ္လ (၁၂)ရက္ေန႔ ရက္စြဲျဖင့္ RNDP က ထုတ္ျပန္ေသာ ေၾကျငာခ်က္တြင္ “ကြင္တားနားသည္ ပဋိပကၡဇစ္ျမစ္ကို တစ္ဖက္သတ္အျမင္ျဖင့္ ေတြ႕ဆံုေလ့လာၿပီး ဖိအားေပးေျပာဆိုမႈမ်ားရွိေနျခင္းေၾကာင့္ ပကတိအမွန္တရား ေပၚထြက္ႏိုင္စရာ အေၾကာင္းမရွိသည့္အတြက္ ကမၻာ့ကုလသမဂၢအေနျဖင့္ သမာသမတ္က်သည့္ အထူးကိုယ္စားလွယ္တစ္ဦး ေျပာင္းလဲတာ၀န္ေပးအပ္ပါရန္ ေလးေလးနက္နက္ ေတာင္းဆိုသည္” ဟု အဆိုပါ ေၾကျငာခ်က္တြင္ ေရးသားထားသည္။

UNA STATEMENT 13.FEBRUARY 2013

United Nationalities Alliance (UNA) issued a statement saying it believes that the 2008 Constitution is not adequate to resolve the conflicts among the national races in the country.

The statement was released at a dinner reception of the 66th anniversary of Union Day hosted in Yangon yesterday.

In it, leaders of national race parties said the constitution was required not only to be amended but also to be rewritten. Otherwise, internal peace could not be achieved, they added.

“The current constitution needs to be rewritten. As we could not accept that we walked out of the National Convention,” said Kun Htun Oo, chairman of the Shan Nationalities League for Democracy.

The statement also said efforts would be exerted for the emergence of another 21st century’s Panglong conference with all-inclusiveness.

The historic Panglong Conference was held in February 1947 with the participation of Myanmar’s independence hero General Aung San and other ethnic leaders in Panglong in the Shan States.  On the agenda was the united struggle for independence from Britain and the future of Myanmar after independence as a unified republic.

SOUTH THAILAND : Security forces ready for raid and hunt

Evidence from a dead militant prompted marines to prepare for a raid from southern insurgents in the early hours of Wednesday, which led to heavy losses to the attackers, a naval officer said.

Capt Thammanon Wanna, chief of Narathiwat Task Force 32, said security authorities were on alert for a possible large attack after intelligence analysts found a map of the base and other documents on the body of Suhaidee Tahe, a 31-year-old militant killed last Saturday.

Suhaidee was already on the most-wanted list of southern militants, as officials believed he was involved in the notorious murder of school teacher Chonlatee Charoenchon, shot to death in front of students and staff at the Ban Tanyong School canteen in Bacho district, Narathiwat, on Jan 23.

About 60 attackers armed with M16 and AK47 rifles arrived at the marine base in two pickups and two motorcycles to start the attack at 1:10am Wednesday. Task force marines manning the Ban Yueror base in Bacho were supposed to be asleep, according to the attackers’ plans. Instead, the troops were on full combat alert.

Within 20 minutes, the insurgents had suffered about 20 per cent dead without inflicting a single marine casualty. The attackers turned tail, leaving behind blood trails of their wounded.

MYAWADY MAESOD BRIDGE – CREDIT PHOTO EMG

Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Bridge over the Moei River will soon be renovated at a cost of over 40 million baht , according to the engineer incharge office of  the road section  of Thai government in Myawaddy Township.

See Sang Company Limited has already started renovating the bridge through Jet Ground system since January 8 and it was the company that constructed a new detour road of Dawna mountain on Myawady-Kawkareik motor road.

It is expected that the renovation of the bridge will be complete in the last week of coming June.

Thai chief engineer Mr. Paralong Yoot Kasinowong said that 40 million baht out of the budget for the new road of Myawady-Kawkareik would be spent on the renovation of the old bridge. The old bridge has been under renovation.

The flow of commodities and the travel of passengers are going well as before despite making repair of the bridge. The bridge repairs will be carried out without having an impact on local business to minimize loss and wastages.

Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge project started on October 20, 1994 and was inaugurated on August 15, 1997. The bridge is 13 meter wide and 420 meter long.

THAILAND : Kidnapped Ethnic Karen Girl Enslaved By Cruel Thai Couple

A 12-year-old Karen girl was kidnapped at age 7 by an abusive Thai couple, who detained her as their household servant for five years in Kamphaeng Phet province. The girl finally escaped and the police were notified. The couple was arrested, but denied all charges and were released on bail.

KAMPHAENG PHET – February 11, 2013 [PDN]; a reporter went to investigate a report of a girl who had been kidnapped and held as a household servant for five years. She was being sheltered at the house of Children and FamilIies in Kamphaengphet province. The shelter had picked up girl “Air” (alias) age 12, a native of the Burmese Karen ethnic group.

She had been kidnapped by a Thai couple to be their servant and detained in their house in Amphur Meuang, Kamphaeng Phet province for more than 5 years. During that time, whenever the girl didn’t obey their commands, she would be subjected to cruelties by the couple, such as being kept in the dog’s cage, or hot water was poured all over her body that left scars.

When the reporters arrived at the shelter, they found its director, Mr. Thanawat Sathit, sitting and talking to the girl Air. She has scars from being scalded by hot water all over her body and her two arms were scalded by hot water until it affected the muscles connected with her body until she cannot lift or move her arms.
