Subject: Request for Negotiation to Resolve Political Problems
Excellency Mr. President,
Our United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) has been studying critically your work programs and reforms for the emergence of peace, stability, progress and the democratic system in the country. We presume that you are undertaking reforms with noble intentions for the country and the people.
Though we do not have any criticism against the democratic changes made in the political reform process carried by the government under your leadership, we find that there are programs, without fairness and equality, in the procedure for establishment of understanding and unity with the armed ethnic resistance organizations. For the rectification of those programs in time and with a view to the interest of the country and the people, we would like to submit work programs for peace, which bear equality and justice, and which are acceptable to us. We would like to remind that Bengali (so-called Rohingya) are trying to seek attention from world media and international community by using dirties tricks. Please do not fall into their traps.
This is not so good, the situation is really tense there.
Latest Breaking News of Burma: An Arakanese child is attacked and killed by a mob of Bengali (so-called Rohingya) in Sitt-Twe, Arakan state, Burma.
Thousands of people surrounded the ward the child had been killed.

The Karen National Union (KNU) says it will take legal action against the head of its armed wing for making an unauthorized trip to the Karen State capital of Pa-an to open a new liaison office as part of a ceasefire agreement with the Burmese government.
In a statement released on Thursday, the KNU said that Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) leader Gen Mutu Say Poe and 30 other Karen rebel military commanders departed for Pa-an earlier that day without informing the group’s leadership.
Speaking to The Irrawaddy on Friday, KNU Joint Secretary 1 Saw Hla Ngwe said that legal action would be taken against Mutu Say Poe in accordance with KNU regulations. However, he declined to say if the general would be sacked as the KNLA head.
