Assamese journalist based in northeast India has been detained in Burma with a top militant leader
Guwahati: An Assamese journalist based in northeast India has been detained in Burma with a top militant leader, informed a highly paced Indian official on December 4, 2011.
According to India’s acclaimed news agency Press Trust of India’s reports (from New Delhi), Jiban Moran (a senior leader of United Liberation Front of Asom) and Rajib Bhattacharya (who works for a newly launched English daily newspaper ‘Seven Sister’s Post’ from Guwahati) have been detained in Burma(Myanmar). No official statement has however comes from the Burmese government till this moment.
Jivan Moran is the second-in-command of the ULFA faction led by its military chief Paresh Baruah, who is opposing the peace talks with the Indian Government. Paresh Baruah is reportedly staying some where in Burma-China border areas. The ULFA is fighting New Delhi for an Independent Assam out of India. Rajib Bhattacharya (who earlier used to work for TimesNow, an influential Indian Television channel) went to Burma/China to take an interview of Paresh Baruah. ‘Seven Sister’s Post’ is published by Saradha group and edited by the former BBC journalist Subir Bhaumik. “ေလာေလာဆယ္ ကြၽန္ေတာ္တို႕ႏိုင္ငံအပိုင္းမွာ ပ်က္တ့ဲ SE-ME-WE 3 ေရေအာက္ ေကဘယ္လ္ႀကိဳး ကိုေတာ့ ျပင္ၿပီးသြားေပမယ့္ စင္ကာပူဘက္မွာ ပ်က္ေနတဲ့အပိုင္း ရွိေသးတဲ့အတြက္ အဲဒီ အပိုင္းျပင္ၿပီးမွပဲ ကြန္နက္ရွင္ေတြ ပံုမွန္အတိုင္း ျပန္ျဖစ္မွာပါ။ အခုကေတာ့ ကြန္နက္ရွင္ေတြ ေႏွးေနဦးမွာပါ။ အခ်ိန္ကာလ အတိအက်ေတာ့ မေျပာႏိုင္ေသးပါဘူး။ အင္တာနက္ ကြန္နက္ရွင္ေတြ ဒီထက္ပိုေကာင္းေအာင္ စီစဥ္သြားဖို႔ ပေရာဂ်က္ အသစ္ေတြလည္း လုပ္သြားဖို႕႐ွိပါတယ္”ဟု ျမန္မာ့ ဆက္သြယ္ေရး လုပ္ငန္းမွ တာ၀န္ရွိသူ တစ္ဦးက ေျပာၾကားသည္။

ထိုင္း-ျမန္မာနယ္စပ္ မဲေဆာက္ႏွင့္ ျမ၀တီၿမိဳ႕သို႔ ဆက္သြယ္ထားေသာ ခ်စ္ၾကည္ေရးတံတားကို ယေန႔နံနက္ ၇ နာရီခြဲခန္႔ တြင္ တံတားအလယ္တြင္ က်င္းပခဲ့ၿပီး ႏွစ္ႏိုင္ငံ တာ၀န္ရွိသူမ်ား တက္ေရာက္ျပီး ျမန္မာဘက္မွ နယ္ျခားေကာ္မတီ ဥကၠဌ ဗိုလ္မႉးႀကီး သက္ခိုင္ဦးႏွင့္ ထိုင္းဘက္က ဗိုလ္မႉးႀကီး အူကရစ္ႏို႔ကန္ဖဲ တို႔က ဖဲႀကိဳးျဖတ္ ဖြင့္လွစ္ေပးခဲ့ၾကပါသည္။
ဤဖြင့္ပြဲသို ့ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံ စီးပြားေရးႏွင့္ ကူးသန္းေရာင္း၀ယ္ေရး ၀န္ႀကီး ဦး၀င္းျမင့္က တက္ေရာက္လာျပီး ၊ယခုလို မွတ္ခ်က္ ျပဳပါသည္။ “အခုလို တံတားျပန္ဖြင့္ ေပးလိုက္တဲ့အတြက္ ထိုင္းနဲ႔ျမန္မာ ႏွစ္ႏိုင္ငံနယ္စပ္ ကုန္သြယ္ေရးကို ျပန္လည္ျပဳလုပ္ ႏိုင္ေတာ့မွာျဖစ္တယ္၊ ထိုင္း-ျမန္မာ နယ္စပ္ ကုန္သြယ္ေရးဟာ ျမန္မာႏိုင္ငံရဲ့ ဒုတိယ အႀကီးဆံုး ကုန္သြယ္ေရးဇုန္ ျဖစ္ပါ တယ္”ဟု ေျပာပါသည္။
ဤထိုင္းျမန္မာ ခ်စ္ၾကည္ေရး တံတားကို ပိတ္ထားသည့္ အတြက္ လစဥ္ ထိုင္းဘတ္ေငြ သန္း ၃၀၀၀ ခန္႔ ထိုင္းဖက္မွ ဆံုးရံႈး ေနရပါသည္။
“ျမန္မာဘက္က တံတားကို ပိတ္ထားတာ တႏွစ္ခြဲနီးပါး ဆိုေတာ့ ဘီလီယံနဲ႔ ခ်ီၿပီး ဆံုးရံႈးတယ္၊ လုပ္ငန္းရွင္ေတြနဲ႔ ဆက္စပ္ မီွခိုသူေတြလည္း အခက္အခဲျဖစ္ၾကရတယ္၊ ဒီေန႔ကစၿပီး ကုန္စည္ေတြ ျမန္မာဘက္ စပို႔ၿပီးျဖစ္လို႔ ပံုမွန္ကုန္သြယ္ေရး ျပန္ေရာက္ရိွတဲ့ အတြက္ အားလံုးေပ်ာ္ရႊင္ေနၾကတယ္”ဟု ႏိုင္ဆူခ်ိဳင္း ကဆိုသည္။

WAR: KIA weekend road attacks kill three Burmese soldiers north of Myitkyina
Three Burmese soldiers from the Namma-based Light Infantry Battalion No. 386 were killed in two separate attacks by the Kachin resistance over the weekend, eyewitnesses report. The attacks took place in Burma’s northern Kachin state, which in recent months has seen some of the worst fighting to affect the country in nearly two decades.
On Saturday one soldier was killed and three others injured after an attack on a vehicle convoy traveling near Lagawng Kahtawng village located between the Mogaung ferry station and Lawa. According to sources in the resistance the attack was led by troops from the Kachin Independence Army’s (KIA) battalion No. 14 under the command of the Hugawng valley-based KIA’s 2nd Brigade and fighters from the People’s Army. The People’s Army is separate from the KIA and instead led by a civilian command under the Kachin Independence Organization’s Department of General Administration. WAR: KIA raid kills Burmese Major, 17 others in Mongkoe
An attack by the Kachin Independence Army in Mongkoe in Shan state killed at least 18 Burmese army personnel early Monday morning, eyewitnesses report. The attack which occurred in downtown Mongkoe targeted a compound that is home to the Military Strategic Office (Byu-ha Kone in Burmese) and an adjoining police station.
Among the dead was Major Maung Maung Myo, the commander of the Chinshwehawy (Nyankun)-based Infantry Battalion No. 129, claimed a representative of the KIA. While most of the killed were soldiers two of the dead were members of the local police force according to the KIA official.
Several homes and offices located in the military compound that housed the Strategic Office were also destroyed in the raid, said a local resident. The attack in Mongkoe near the Chinese border is just the latest clash between the KIA and the Burmese army in an increasingly violent conflict that began in June.
The raid was carried out by troops from KIA Battalions 36 and 38 under the Kia’s 4th Brigade based in Northern Shan State and lasted approximately 45 minutes a KIA official told the Kachin News Group.
Also killed in the raid was Corporal Sumlut Gam Seng of the KIA’s Battalion 36, the KIA official said.
Although a Burmese army convoy carrying reinforcements left Muse’s 105 Border Trade Zone shortly after the attack according to local residents it had yet to arrive in Mongkoe by late Monday afternoon.
