Dear friends,

Firstly, I would like to wish “Happy Burmese New Year” to you all. I am writing the letter to inform you of the current political development of Burma.

Junta is planning to hold election in this year in order to nullify 1990 election results and to legitimise military rule in Burma.

Our leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi clearly stated her position by saying “She won’t even think of participating”. She also urges the public to uphold “Shwe-Gone-Dine” declaration. National League for Democracy (NLD), the victors of 1990 elections unanimously decided to boycott junta’s planned sham 2010 election.

Recently, NLD is trying to bring junta to court due to its failure to honour 1990 election results.
