ျမန္မာစစ္အစုိးရႏွင့္ အပစ္အခတ္ ရပ္စဲျခင္း မရိွေသးသည့္ ကရင္ အမ်ဳိးသား အစည္းအရုံး (KNU) သည္ ၁၉၉၅ ခုႏွစ္တြင္ ၎၏ မာနယ္ပေလာ ဌာနခ်ဳပ္ ကုိ လက္လႊတ္ရၿပီး ေနာက္ပုိင္း တျဖည္းျဖည္း အင္အား ေလ်ာ့နည္းလာသည္။ ၿပီးခ့ဲသည့္ ႏွစ္မ်ားအတြင္း KNU ေခါင္းေဆာင္ ဗုိလ္ခ်ဳပ္ ေစာဘုိျမကြယ္လြန္ျခင္း၊ အေထြေထြ အတြင္းေရးမွဴး ဖဒုိမန္းရွာ ထုိင္းႏုိင္ငံတြင္ လုပ္ႀကံခံရျခင္းတုိ႔ႏွင့္အတူ KNU၏ ထိန္းခ်ဳပ္ နယ္ေျမ အမ်ားအျပား ဆုံးရႈံးျခင္း၊ ေအာက္ေျခတပ္တခ်ဳိ႕ စစ္အစုိးရႏွင့္ သြားေရာက္ ပူးေပါင္းျခင္းတုိ႔ ဆက္တုိက္ ျဖစ္ပြားခ့ဲသည္။ ျမန္မာစစ္အစုိးရႏွင့္ အပစ္အခတ္ ရပ္စဲေရး ေဆြးေႏြးပဲြမ်ား အႀကိမ္ႀကိမ္ ျပဳလုပ္ခ့ဲေသာ္လည္း ေအာင္ျမင္မႈ မရခ့ဲေပ။ KNU သည္ ျပည္ပေရာက္ အတုိက္အခံမ်ားႏွင့္ ရင္းႏွီးမႈအရိွဆုံးေသာ တုိင္းရင္းသား လက္နက္ကုိင္ အဖဲြ႔ တဖဲြ႔ ျဖစ္သည္။ ဧရာဝတီက KNU ဗဟုိ အလုပ္အမႈေဆာင္ ေကာ္မတီဝင္ ဖဒုိေဒးဗစ္ေထာ ႏွင့္ ေတြ႔ဆုံၿပီး KNU၏ လက္ရိွအေျခအေနမ်ားကုိ ေမးျမန္းခ့ဲသည္။ ဖဒုိေဒးဗစ္ေထာသည္ ယခင္က KNU၏ ႏုိင္ငံျခားေရး တာဝန္ခံ အျဖစ္ ႏွစ္ေပါင္းမ်ားစြာ တာဝန္ယူခ့ဲသူျဖစ္သည္။

We thank D. Taw on his interviewed. But this is only D Taw. Not KNU. It’s like he report and you decide . If KNU had no strength, or strong , how could it stand for 60 years? KNU celebrated it 60 years struggle already.

Wel, now KNU is stand in the midst of hardship. The SPDC military was supported by the International which are financially, materially and Internationally. But KNU stand on it onw since 1949 and until today. KNU stand for freedom, Federal Democracy with ethnicity, for self determination . The military lie the International, United Nation, to the ASEAN .

What the SPDC destroyed the villages, killing the Karen people , and human rights abuses everyday are the evidence. And the KNU troops as KNLA means Karen National Liberation Army is protect and defense for the Karen villagers.

The strength of Karen troops are more than D. Taw said. He lie to you and to the SPDC and to the International.

KNU was established in Town and represented to the all Karen. It struggle about 60 years already is not for 3 territory in which the SPDC point out it to go back, or not for the economic reason while there are still human rights abuses every day. KNU is fighting for all the rights for Karen people, complete recognition by the international. For equal rights, freedom and self determination and for Federal democracy , KNU takes it leadership role and leads Karen people and hold it arms until today.

Surrender is out of questions. We shall retain our arms in our own hand. The DKBA arm is in his hand which could never shoot or fight to the lie, injustices, and un justices SPDC . His arms is only to kill and fight his own people.

So what D. Taw said was unbalance and unfair to the current situation. If D. Taw is a KNU President , I think he could no longer talk like this. He also is a lier like SPDC.
