A fire in Moulmein’s second largest market engulfed nearly 1,000 shops Monday evening, say eyewitnesses and shop owners.
According to woman who owned a shop in the market, one fire truck arrived soon after the fire began at 6:30 pm. At that point only a few shops were burning, she said, but the truck had no water with which to douse the fire.
