The Price of Rice Rises By 5% ccording to sources of Mawtin rice wholesale center.

The price of rice has gone up by 5% due to less supply of rice from the areas outside Yangon, according to sources of Mawtin rice wholesale center.

The market price of harsh rice ( Ziya, Hnanga and Emahta) which was K 14,500 per bag last month has run at K 14,800 to 18,000 per bag depending on quality and the Pawsan fragrant rice in the new harvest from Kyeiklett which was available at price K 19,500 per bag before brings in K 20,000 per bag and that from Myaungmya & Pathein fetches K 21,000 to K 23,000, sources show.
