Fire Breaks out in Famous Bogyoke Market in Yangon

Fire broke out in Myanmar’s famous Bogyoke Aung San Market in Yangon on Wednesday afternoon, destroying a school uniform clothing shop, eyewitnesses said.
The fire, which started at about 4:00 p.m. (local time), was said to have been caused by electric shock.
Four fire engines rushed to the scene filled with smoke and the fire was promptly put out in half an hour, the eyewitnesses said.
The two-storey Bogyoke Aung San Market, previously known as Scott Market, has been historically famous since the British colonial era, attracting thousands of customers especially foreign visitors yearly.
