Thakhin Soe Myint was cremated at the Yayway Cemetery in Rangoon at 11 am on May 22. Diplomats and political colleagues attended the funeral. The attendees, including members of the National League for Democracy sang the ‘Doh Bamar (We, Burma)’ song at the funeral, where about 500 people were present. Photo: Mizzima/Rangoon. Soe Myint, NLD leader, a veteran freedom fighter, activist, politician and colleague of pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi died in Rangoon on May 20 at the age of 87.
