The killing took place three days after his release from jail on 5 February. He had been serving a 3 year jail sentence after he was caught with a stolen motorbike, a local Thai correspondent told SHAN.
On interrogation, Ko Oo was said to have confessed that he had already killed 4 before the latest victim. 3 in Burma and 1 in Thailand. At least two of them were mute women and another a Burma Army officer from Mongkeung-based Light Infantry Battalion 526. He had deserted from the Army since then and came to Thailand, says the report. (Editor’s note: LIB 526 is based in Tachilek. The LIB based in Mongkeung is LIB 514) continue
